gday
i have a 400 chev in a LH torana and the starter motor ive got is adjustable [its made by ASHDOWN and is offset] i had it set up with the solaniod facing up to the top of the the block but the extractors were hitting on it. the adjustments on it were not enough to clear the extractors so i made new threads and made it so the solanoid is facing to the bottom of the block is this O.K. it clears the chassi by about 25mm.would this be safe enough with out knocking on it.
cheers

Should be o.k., if your motor is moving more than about 10mm (with captive engine mounts) there is a problem. I mean 10mm movement at the mounts, which will multiply by the time it gets to the rocker covers.
