Hi guys

I have a lj and it has a 308, turbo 350 shift kitted stage2, and a 9in out the back with 3.55.

I'm putting in a 355 or 383 efi stroker in it with around 450-500 fwhp.

I don't know what box to put in it, It gets used as a weekend car and maybe a few drag days.

I don't like the 350 that's in it as it shifts really hard and chirps the tyres on almost every gear change even under lite power.

I wouldn't mind going to a manual box or staying auto, the only thing I don't want to do is big mods to the tunnel

Any ideas would be helpful

Thanks
Shawn

Keep the T350 but get it freshened and the shift kit toned down

The t350 only has about 2000ks on it it was rebuilt in Vic can't remember by who, I was thinking about a t700 from a vn/vp and getting in built

Some of the "shift kits" out there simply make the shifts harsh so you think you're getting a good thing. If you like the T350 other than the way it shifts then definitely work with that, it will be a lot nicer done properly.

A T700 could work but will cost you not only for the trans but also slightly more expensive parts than the 350.

Manual would be nice but will be more costly again, you're talking Muncie/Super T10 or Tremec 5 speed
