Not sure where to post this, but it is about paint protection?????

No Im not a pervert okay.
I am getting a new paint job , and dont want to get stone chips on the car on longer drives.
So question is, are these a good idea, and where can I get one made these days?

For a LX by the way.

Thanks heaps

I'd prefer stone chips over rub marks personally.

Cheers.

I've got one for an LC great fit perfect if you don't drive over 90KPH/100KPH , above that is moves around a bit , if it had dust or grit in there it would be like an orbital sander along it's back section , needless to say it's sitting on the shelf .

I've never used it but isn't that clear vinyl wrap stuff the thing to use now? Those car bras look stupid as frOck no matter when you use them or for how long.

Yes, the clear vinyl stuff would be the go.

Hell even the spray on shit Autobarn sells would be better than a car bra.

Cheers.

I think so? What i've always called it.

Some spray on peel off type gunk, I got a tin and tried it out and its actually pretty good. Layered it onto some test pieces and it pealed straight off, so long as it had a hard edge.

Thought about spraying my Harley in it to test out color schemes.

Cheers.

I use a carbra for long trips.

I would prefer a rub mark than a stone chip, at least you can try to buff out a rub mark, not so easy on a stone chip.

I have never had any rub marks, I do put a layer of glad wrap on the painted sections first. Also you have to make sure the carbra never gets any dirt or anything on the inside, so that it doesnt rub anything against your paint.

Make sure you use the original

I drove 2,500 klm's with the car bra on my black ss "original brand" great fit Black carbon fibre finish & if your worried about scratches just put some rag under the edges, a kangaroo jumped into me at cooma nsw. & i have a area of the bumper to blow some colour out on no dent, i cannot tell you how much impact it absorbed if i didn't have it on the damage would have been much worse, on the highway they're fantastic. They are'nt pretty though, but i'm going to fit 1 to my cluby as travelling on the highway it has about 100 million stone chips i need to repair & the windscreen is now f@cked, thanks to can do's cheap arse dodgy roadworks. Gary.
