Fuel economy is BAD. 14.2ltr/100km.

I had a VT that was playing up. Turned out that one valve spring had broken at half a turn, and not only did the car run like a pig, but used heaps of juice. Have you thought about buying the software and cable and checking the computer out to see if it tells you anything?

Hi guys. I know it's commodore but I can't post in street commodore forum yet.

Haha, you think that's bad. My VZ 3.6L alloytec 4spd auto is worse. Average 16L per 100k's around town.
I'd be happier if mine was returning 14L per 100.

I concur, check the O2 sensors.
My 2004 VY series 2 crewman 3.8 auto stock standard returns 11.5 litres per 100 klm average around town, and 9.5 to 10.0 out on the highway.
Am cheating just a little bit, I am using ULX-110 5W - 40 grade oil. This oil is super slippery.
Cheers,
Daryl.

O2 sensors, clean maf / air filter / throttle body. Busted cat?
As I said, I had no codes but used so much fuel (when it was stock), changed o2 sensors and fuel economy jumped by 100+kms

thats bad, our big WH(VX/VY equvelent) stato with the 3.8 gets 8.6L per 100
Vz crewman with crappy 3.6 gets 10-11L oer 100
Defently something wrong with yours, maybe wear lighter shoes

Some engines are frieks we had a vy spack auto that returned 800 to 850 kms between tank fills and that wasnt a trip. Told buyer and i dont think he believed me but rang 6 weeks later singing its praise (the cost of updating)

4,500kms @ 15.15L/100km.
2,796m@ 15.53mpg.
First 1,700kms were highway 107kmh @2,500rpm We were getting 17.3mpg.

I would check the cat out as well. If they block or clog a little, the backpressure "kills" the engine.
A mate had a mitsu magna that used to get 200km from a tanki, after months, they found the cat had collapsed internally

My VE SS used to do about 7.7/100 on the freeway at cruise speed.
About 25/100 having fun on Putty Road

Get a tec2 plugged into it and see what it says. Wifes V6 auto VY commonwhore gets over 700klm to tank and uses 7-9L/100klms.
