I want to replace the standard distributor in my 308 HQ motor with an electronic type. I need one which is physically small as the firewall is quite close so probably need one that doesn't have the coil attached.  Any recommendations.

Any Holden V8 HEI you can get your hands on. Add small cap and rotor.
Alternatively ring performance ignition services in Nunawading Melbourne and get hold of a new scorcher distributor.

As above, leave your points cap and leads on the car, and just use an XD/E Cleveland rotor button on the HEI dizzy. You need a HEI coil though, if you can find an original (6cyl is the same) use a spark lead as a coil lead.

Bridge the pink and yellow wires at the ignition switch to bypass the resistor wire.
