Hi all

I have to replace some of the hard brake lines in my LC. I have read quite a few topics and know that Aeroflow produce the 3/8" piping, but I am having a little trouble finding the fittings that look original.

Can anybody help here? Links?

Thanks

Glenn

3/16" seamless steel tube.

Local brake shop should have it and all the fittings.

You will also need a suitable bender and a 45 degree doible flairing tool.

Cheers.

I actually found that the brake shop I dealt with didnt stock the plain ol bare bundy tube brake line, he only stocked this green tube stuff???? It was much harder to bend, I eventually tracked down a roll of the stuff at Repco and supplied the brake shop with that to make up my hard lines.

You better have superhands if you think your going to flare stainless tube with a hand flaring tool

P5555 are the nuts for the job (PBR part #)

And yes... steer away from that hard green tube... I'd never use it

I actually wasnt going for the stainless tubing, I was aiming for the steel tube. After speaking to a mate who does tubing for a living, the biggest thing to remember about stainless is that it work hardens with vibration.

cheers

Glenn

I ended up taking it to Burt Bros in Fairfield. They were well priced and did a great job

Think I paid around $650 which included whole car from master cylinder through to front and rear brakes.
This included new rear drum slave cylinders.
I supplied the flex lines for the diff and front brakes as they are not standard fit.
This was with Stopmasters here in Brisbane.
