I have removed all the screws on the firewall side what is holding it in across the rear(windscreen side), presuming it is clipped in at the rear somehow. It was a bit tight and  I didn't want to force the issue. If anyone can point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks

Just to be sure we are talking about the same part in case I have the name wrong, I think the scuttle panel is across in front of the windscreen and the wiper arms come through it.

On my LX there were screws at the forward end and the aft end near the windscreen had about 6 pointed barb shape bits on the scuttle panel that fitted into grommets in slots on the body. It just pulled out of the grommets but was tight.

You can see the slots in the body in this picture.

Hope it helps

Its a bit tight but it just lifts out.....gently lift /force it up until you can get you fingers under it and then it will pop up ....I hope you understand what I am trying to say here ...buts its really simple after you have done it once ....

Yes, that's the part I was was talking about, I remember removing one from my old Torana, didn't rememnber it being quite as tight but that was over 25 years ago the car was not that old at the time. Just wanted to be sure incase I broke or bent something, Thanks a lot Tom  & BIG KEV

Will it lift out with the windscreen in and by the look of the pic it lift in an upward motion right?

Cheers

Lee

Can't remember if I had windscreen in or out.

Certainly hope it goes back in with the windscreen in.

Screws holding windscreen washer spray pipes may have screws through it, can't remember

Yes you can remove it with the windscreen in or out
but as above post remove the windscreen spray pipe hoses plus wiper arms
this is simple as it gets
