As the title says i am trying to allign my drivers door on my Hatchback but having no luck. I mangaged to get it closed but snapped the interior door handle clean off trying to get it open! Any help is appreciated.

The best starting point is to check that there is no wear in the hinge pins. Replace the bushes if there is any wear as this will stop you getting the alignment correct. The hatch door being longer magnifys the problem. Perhaps some more info on what is not aligning?

The lines of the door do not line up. The top of the door etc. my old hinges were buggered so i got some good ones off a sedan at the wrecker. My Left Hand door is perfect it closes beautifuly but the drives one is a struggle.

Take the lock strike bolts off from the door frame. You have no chance of aligning the doors with them on. If you are almost snapping the door handles off, sounds like you are trying to align the doors with them on. Get the doors aligned, then set up the door strikes seperately.

Do as Yella says and take the striker off, and try and get another person to help you, Toranas have lots of adjustment in doors themselves and the hinges (forward/back/up/down/in/out etc) and if you have someone helping you hold the door in place while you tighten bolts etc will take a hell of a lot of the frustration out of it. Hatch doors can get pretty heavy too particularly when complete.
Trust me you'll take 6 times as long gettting them right if your on your own,because you'll get the door where you need it to be then go to tighten the bolts and it will drop or shift etc and your back to square one.

^agree with above but if you must do it on your own take off the lock but make yourself some little timber wedges to jam in and hold the door in place to get your gaps right
