v6's are prone to throttlebody issues that require the TB to be replaced

P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor (open circuit)

P0342 RH bank intake camshaft position sensor signal (incorrect)

P0368 RH bank exhaust camshaft position sensor  (voltage high)

P0300 Engine misfire detected

How many kilometres on this engine?

Service history?

Did it have a distinct rattle on cold start up that went away as it achieved oil pressure?

Timing chain first place to look. They stretch according to my mate from Holden

Quite often an ECU re-flash will fix the problem.

I've seen many Alloytec V6s that throw CAS & CAM codes because the timing chain has stretched slightly. They don't stretch far enough to rattle but the ECU can see the variation. Apparently the original program was too sensitive to this issue, so they've released another program with more tolerance in this area. Try that first, it is a lot cheaper than replacing timing chains etc.

Holden are not alone with this problem, many other cars (including some Toyotas) suffer the same problem.

I've seen 1 snapped chain doing roadside service and also the oil gauze for the cam timing blocked due to lack of service.

I suspected that may have been the case.

If/when you pull out apart, let us know if any particular gallery seems to be blocked, condition of chain guides etc please.

Would like to know for future reference.

ive pulled the cover off,the tensioner is seized compressed, the plastic guide the chain rubs on has come away from main guide and rapt itself around bottom gear

(opposite the tensioner guide)

were abouts is the gauze for the valve timing
