Don't know and don't care, looks like a VE dunny-door to me
Could only imagine it would end up in the concept room out front of Holden's Fishermans Bend Plant

Looking at this car now I'm pretty sure it ended up going into production but with a different driveline and badge.

It was never meant to be a prototype for a new Torana, it was a styling teaser for the VE to see how the public would react...

It's all I can say is you will always get knockers! but just imagine this car with either a V6 Turbo or a big horsepower V8 in it,and a 6 speed gearbox with rear wheel drive,rear spoiler,bonnet scoop and a hot paint job and trim combo.Or a two hatch with all the bells and whistles.

Power to weight , it would of been a goer for sure, shame it never turned into a Road going Torana I reckon.

SLR 6200. LS3, 6 slot stick, If they offered the original color line up and trim options, tastefully, i recon i would have handed over the coin, my first and only brand new car i've even considered the possibility of.
