it states the hard work has been done, i think from the looks of it, it hasn't even begun.
be carefull of cars in primer as it tends to hide alot.
if your not a sprayer, expect ball park figure of $4000 respray worst case for body work, then there is most mechanicals etc, etc.

I think i will give it a miss and instead of spending $1500 save another $5000 and buy a car that is ready to drive as i have no clue about body work.
hopefully $6000 or $7000 i can get something.
If i can not find 2 door will get a sedan instead.

If you are looking for a LC/J i can give you some tips.

When looking at the body, check around front and back windows for rust or rust repair or bog. The guards are also big places for rust so give them a good check along with the bottoms of the doors. The boot floor and parcel shelf can also rust if the rear window is not installed properly. If you can check the floor under the carpet and sight down the sides of the car to see if anything looks 'funny'

To check for bog use a flat magnet, if it sticks no bog or minimal bog, if it doesn't stick lots of bog or fibreglass)

Other things to look for is check to see if orginal riverts are in tags, this is a pretty sure way of ensuring a genuine car, particularly if someone is telling you it is a GTR or XU-1 instead of the S 2 door. Check numbers with hg350. She should be able to tell you if the numbers are good.

I am sure some of the other LC/J guys can add some more suggestions.

Really at the end of the day, if you think there is something 'funny' about the car I think it is best to just walk away. Better to buy something slower and more straight and orginal, than buy a nightmare.

As to getting a 2 door, consider maybe what you will use the car for as well. I wanted a 2 door, but couldn't find one worth buying that wasn't stuffed or overpriced so i picked up a SL four door in orgianl condition for $2,500. For me four doors are much more practical for giving people lifts, and carting stuff around etc. I can't imagine trying to get mine and my bros PCs into the back of a LC/J two door.. i have enough trouble with the four door. :tease:

Good luck with it mate.

Thank you for advise i have just put deposit for a 1973 lj sedan and going to get it during the week when it gets rwc.

The car is white with brown interior body very good condition and interior.
Has global sprintmaster wheels rear and front xu-1 spoilers.

The motor is NP Xu-1 with the 175 carbs and aussie 4speed box.

When i drove it has lots of power so i dont need to spend anymore on motor only thing when i get it want to re do front seats and better seatbelts.

paid $4500 better then trying to fix the 2 door on ebay :D
