Gday guys so I had a thought in my head after quickly reading through old jonnos building holden six's. I really want to build a motor to take some gas one day and thought it would be great to combine the counterweighted crank from a blue black 202 and the smaller bore therefore thicker cylinder walls and putting it all into a blue 173. If I used a 202 crank standard sized rods and had forged pistons made up in the smaller bore size this would require the comp height of a 202 piston right ?? And does anyone know roughly what cubic capacity it would then be.

Yes you would need stock 202 compression height, whichever one best suits your block.

You will have roughly 187ci assuming you dont bore the 173, which you will do, so you will end up around 190ci.

Cheers.
