Rare Spares sell the spray, not sure what they call it but they will know what you mean.

I personally had some silicone spray in the shed and I now use that but I apply it every month and wipe off any excess. It works for me, others say they won't use it.

A few forum members raved about the spray in a thread on the old forum, so after the Fastlane members night I bought a can.

It's called CPR Rubber Magic Spray 400G Pressure Pack- Part # RM5 and cost $19-50 less 10% club members disc. = $16-57.

All that info is straight off the receipt.

I have never been able to locate the stuff in their online catalogue, even with the part #. I've just tried again and still no luck, so suggest you either call into a store or place an order over the phone.

Does it work??? I've still got no personal idea- Hadn't even taken it out of the boot of the car until I wanted to retrieve the above info! Those that had used it on the old thread reckoned it was the ants pants.

The can says;

-keeps rubber parts elastic.
-protection against adhesion, due to age and heat on: door, bonnet and boot
rubber seals.
-freshens up color
-will not damage painted or chrome parts
Silicone Free

Sounds so brilliant I might try spraying on myself

Directions say- spray liberally over rubber component-do not wipe of- allow to soak overnight. I was told by RSP that one can would be plenty for the whole car.

So there you have everything except the can itself!

Cheers,

Torry nut

I just bought a complete rubber kit for my SL/R 5000, including a can of Rubber Magic....

Made little difference, still have to slam doors to shut them.

cheers

^ seems to have something to do with the new door rubbers being solid rubber, whereas the original rubbers had a cavity through the guts to take the continuous clipping wire. Was mentioned in a thread on "<certain parts reseller> rubbers are crap" from memory.
