Have seen cams cleaned up on a lathe with a linishing with fine emery cloth and some kero

Rockoz were they this bad?
Bomber the chienese mite give me 300 for em if the mrs lets me stockpile for annother 10years.

Personally, i'd ditch them. The hard coating is goneskies, will cost more than a brand new custom grind billet to get them back into shape.

Better to "recycle / redesign" than toss em, Weld a brake drum to both ends and you have a pot stand for thu garden......

THe main speakers for my shed are sitting on old Holden six cams welded to some ZZR600 brake rotors.

They are pretty bad.
Ditch them. Even though they are probably still better than a standard cam.

I bought a regrind off of Rare Spares once.
I also have worn a cam lobe round on one lobe once too,
which was not a regrind, go figure

The old Holden V8 cams were very prone to wearing lobes.
For those rusty cams if the journals clean up ok then they are usable.
Re grinding for a lumpy cam actually takes most meat off the low part of the cam and reshapes the higher section.
Grinding a blank cam is preferable so that the valve train geometry can be kept closer to original
