I Have a 20m x 15m with a 15 x 4m mezz at the rear. Front of shed middle has 4m opening .RH Side has 8 m sliding door from the mezz forward .

Suggestions is 45 degrees to the Mezzanine in the back lh corner .

Any thoughts different?

Open to suggestions as I don't want to have to move it around .

Cheers

Bernie

frOck thats a big shed.

Any reason you dont want to put it straight on in one bay infront of the mez? That way you can drive right onto it without moving anything, either leave that bay clear for hoist duties or have two going vehicles stacked in that bay....

Cheers.

Bomber ,Yes it is but still I have filled it up with crap .Must thank one of  my neighbors  whom constantly complained to the council about my cars  .It was their suggestion I get a shed .When I produced the plans they said that is a big shed .I said it was a big problem  and this will fix it .

I can access it from both entrances .Just want it out of the way if possible when it isn't needed .

I have some pallet racking on the wall near the position I am thinking of  so it would be out probably 4m from the wall .Was worried about  one of the posts being out in the floor space too far .One would be beside the mezz and the other towards the the other wall .The nose of the car would be facing towards the corner of the shed .I definitely don't want to bang into it .

Makes sence.

Im just going by the tentative plans i've made for my measely 12x7.5m shed with a 6x6 add on, a small portion of your real estate.

Im thinking a two poster in the far end 7.5m bay would be the goods, i can have two going cars stacked on top of each other, or a going car ontop of the ski boat, or similar, then its only 10 mintues work to clear the hoist to service the daily etc.

Your idea sounds pretty good though, Mind i would want more than one hoist in a shed that big haha.

Cheers.

Bomber it has taken me 5 yrs to get this one .Spoke to one of my good neighbors and he mentioned he would put it in at 45 degrees if he was to do it again in his shed as well so I suppose that is what will happen .Will post a pic when its done .Would be good to get a 4 poster next to the mezzz then I could drive em up the top too.

Bomber make sure you get it high enough for a mezzanine .It is a great place to store your odds and sods that need to be kept away from the lookers and takers  .Insulate it  on the roof and walls  .You won't believe the difference it makes .If you go for some sky lite sheeting for light inside just do the one side of the shed or it will cook you in the summer .I have one sheet every 4m and feel  it is too much .

Good luck and thanks for your thoughts

Hey Bomber, how high are your walls going to be to allow enough height for the hoist?

I've got plans done up for a 9m x 18m with 3m walls and plan on putting the hoist in the middle of the appex but think it might be touch and go for height.

My shed already exists.

3m walls, so pretty high in the apex (forget how high).

There is ample room to fit either a 2 post or 4 post in ny shed. There is also ample room to get a smallish car above head height (im 6'1).

Something like a landcruiser wagon would be a no go, but my toranas, hilux etc will all shit it in.

Cheers.

Look you should atleast get it crouching height.

Perfect height for working on the brakes and the like.

Bullet, heres a snap of mine, 3 meter walls but only a 7.5 meter bay.

2014-07-09%2019.25.47_zps8irk4ppj.jpg

As you can see if i move the HB (car under the cover) and put a two poster in the middle of the bay theres more than enough room to get the LJ up higher than i could work on it, or any other car i own really.

Your 9 meter bays may have a slightly higher center, mine are about 3.8. Even if your peak height is the same then your roof wont slant off quiet as quick giving more room front and back.

Biggest problem with the Pagero is an obvious one, its a wagon, so the back of the roof is going to be where you come to greif, but surely you could get the chassis atleast 1.6-1.7 off the ground. So slight crouch.

Cheers.

Cheers for the pic Bomber, I'm confident the 3m walls will be enough now.

I'm going to be building a 3m wall and 9m bay peak is about 4.2m but that is outside sizes. I will add pics to the Shed thread as it gets done.
