Yea i wouldn't have a clue of a balster but I went and had a talk to a local guy about getting my car done and he uses the bead blasting to get rid of the paint and then sand blasts the rust areas.
Im not completly sure why i have to enquire further.
thanks ryan

If you sand blast, the surface gets rough and you need to sand it down to make it smoother, with bead blasting, it is a little less rougher and it gets rid of paint better

Hi,
We use both sand and bead balsters at work,
The sandblaster actually uses garnet not sand as such,
way more abrasive than beadblasting.
the beadblaster uses tiny glass beads,
which does give a lot smoother finish,
an item done in the beadblaster is usually just primed ready for paint,
no futher work required.
I would go for beadblasting, not sure of places that would do it for you.
Cheers
Chris.

Is sandblasting/beadblasting essential? Or worth the money you pay?

I've used Northside Powdercoating at Everton Hills in the past to have rims and machinery bits sandblasted before. I don't think they're geared up for specialist blasting (ie. car panels, delicate stuff) but if its heavier guage steel with rust I'm sure it would be fine.
