xu1 diff housing

when did the xu1 s have the baffled housing,

are the braized ,or spot welded or both. any pics. and can you pick it from outside looking at the tubes.

Baffled diff housing introduced into production for the CK XU1's in September 1971.

AFAIK factory baffled housings had braized baffles.

Can't pick it from the outside without a part number on the housing.

Pretty sure you can tell from the inside only.

Pretty sure you can tell from the inside only.

Yeah my car had a 2.78 originally. It has a long bolt at 6 and 7 o'clock.
