Hi there, I am looking to replace my master cylinder. I haven't been involved with cars for quite a long time and having worked for Repco some years ago was very keen to use PBR product/s.
I asked a local parts store for a quote on PBR, however when I went to pick it up, they handed me a Protex item.
Would someone with experience like to share thoughts, or experience with Protex please?
I should also mention the sales guy told me Protex is made by PBR......
Thanks
Rob

Protex is not made by PBR

Its imported and distributed by Australian Truck and Auto Parts

All Chinese products

Very few people use PBR stuff nowdays.... its been bought by Bosch and they have canned alot of the products

Including calipers and boosters

However if you look hard enough you can still get a PBR cylinder for your car if you can find someone with an account

My experience has been all negative products don't last at all. I have used their products on a hydraulic clutch setup. You pay for.what you get.

There are no brands

Its all just the same shite coming out of China

Its all the same stuff in different boxes

Even the PBR one will be Chinese

Welcome to the disposable society we have perpetuated by wanting the cheapest products over quality products

I got a PBR one in Mackay but can't remember if it was Brake and Auto or Cols favourite brake shop, i'm leaning towards B&A.

I will see if i can find the paperwork tomorrow.

I've noticed that a lot of PBR branded stuff is marked made in India.

Some Protex stuff comes out of Taiwan, It's not as bad as some others on the market.
