Hey all,
Am looking into getting a new set of rims for my LX TORANA without flares. As its virtually impossible to get anything to fit my 13inch hotwires, and 14inch are also out of the question. So... can anyone help point me in the right direction to finding some wheels that will fit under the guards of my torana in the 15/16 inch range?
I have no idea what I should be looking for. My old tread were 235 on the arse, and 215 on the front. I would like to stick to a tread around the same width. Im sure that if I had 2grand to throw away finding wheels wouldnt be as much of a problem, but I cant justify spending this much on a set of rims, and then some on tires.

Cheers

Well Lxtorrie, I think this should be made a stickie!!!
I too am hunting for something in the 15/16in range and can tell you that there isn't much out there!
Custom made wheels are looking the only option and Dragway want $610 per wheel for a basic 5 spoke design billet wheel!
If you want to stay Torana pattern, 14's are the go, but the range of tyres available is shrinking. The only option I can see to put 15in+ on a Torry is to go HQ brakes or fit Hoppers all round and go Commodore stud pattern, at least you can choose from 15in and up, with 100's of designs.
I've put the feelers out about Commodore brake conversion and it seems easy enough on the front, but the rears, I haven't had any good feedback about yet and the offset is dramatically changed... so deep dish mags aren't suited anymore. Even Dattoman isn't too sure about axle swapping!

So good luck.
Let us all know how you go.... I think I'll contact Hoppers in the next week and see what they can suggest....

Have posted this question on a few forums, and seems that there are a fair few people having the same problems with finding bigger rims. There must be some out there that are made to fit at a reasonable price. Hopper Stopper kit + New Rims + New tires adds up very quickly.
