i'm new to carby's and lpg, so when i'm told this torry i'm buying has 308 rocker covers on a 253 engine i was confused, it's been rebuilt to run on gas
does this mean the engine was thrown together carelessly? i understand it can increase flows of stuff but would someone go out of there way to do this?

if you are talken the 308 logo covers, they were probably installed to make the motor look bigger.
a cover is just that, a cover and offers no performance advantage.

Like ALX76 has said, they're just a cover and offer no increase in performance.
May have increased the owner's ego however!

Is it a 253, could be lucky and have a 308 crank in the old girl.

and having a 308 crank in a 253 would achieve absoluley nothing other than making it harder to balance and want to rev less......

In other words, Standard and chrome 308 rocker covers are the same size and fit as 253 ones.

Standard 308 heads are interchangeable with the 253 heads, also there is no left or right head they are both exactly the same!
