G'day looks great. What categories usually run?

Has anyone here done the come and try before? They seem like a really down to earth no- bull kind of organisation.

Hi Andrew

My son has done 'Come & Try', and we have both done two Regularity events with FoSC. I am going again on Saturday 7th March "Druitt" GP North Circuit SMP.

"Come & Try" is a great introduction. You do a session as a passenger in one of the 'Legend' instructor's cars. Tom went in a Ford Territory and could not believe how fast this guy could make it go around a race track, all the time pointing out braking points and apexes and highlighting the inadequacies of the Territory as a track car! Then you go as a passenger in your car with the instructor, then you drive and the instructor sits in the passenger seat. After that you join the rest of the Regularity field for their remaining sessions.

Regularity may sound tame, but the reality is that it lets you drive on a race circuit as fast as you like, without actually 'racing'. The two times I have been, there were around 25 cars on the short 1.8km "Amaroo" South Circuit at SMP. So it is not like there are no other cars around you - it gets pretty busy at times. It is a lot of fun without the added expense and stress of actually racing.

I can highly recommend these guys if you want to have a day on the track. They are well organised, friendly and don't tolerate anyone who thinks sheep stations are at stake! Give Charles Jardine a call on 0418 969 658.

That does sound great. I've done a bit of track time with jap cars and instruction with new cars but have never driven the lx on the track so this sounds like a good intro with the Ol' girl.

I'm going to give him a call. Would be great to go out in March.

Thanks!

If you can prove to them you have previous track time or advanced driver training, then no need for "Come & Try" just put in an entry. Charles will explain all that when you call him.
