Hi everyone, since ive been putting up videos of RUSTY the Torana on my build thread I have received a fair few emails from you tube asking how I got the paint finish on my car..... especially as its being done at home.

So I decided to make a video about what guns I use and some basic settings and a few tips as to how to go about it.

i thought some of you might be interested so Im going to put the video up here as well.

It goes for 5 mins so if your easily bored its not for you lol

Anyway here it is

Cheers

Al

Thanks Al, wish I'd known about those D cups before painting mine.

Great info there, what you don't tell us is how you keep your guns spotless?   Unbelievable!   I try to keep mine clean but find it difficult.

Love your work. :-)

There is no substitute for a good quality spray gun. Very nice set up mate.
My baby is this sata jet rp3000 gold plated set with a Swarovski crystal.
The crystal just helps give you a flatter finish. ☺

Nice guns and great vid.. Question..I have an old devilbiss gfg-513 gravity gun.. Can I get the dekup system for it?

and

I like the Tekna model you have..

where can I get in Aus? Im finding it hard to find someone who stocks these..I want the kit with the extra nozzles.. mainly for acrylic colour and clear..

Mike

Hi Mike...admittedly I bought my Tekna from TCP Global in the USA however the dollar was very good when I bought it....not so good now.

As for your gun I can't see a problem retro fitting Dekups to it...if it takes a standard paint pot then there will be an adapter with the correct thread...type in Devilbiss DeKups on ebay and you will see a range of adapters and Dekups kits for reasonable money.

Cheers
Al

I have a trick for that lol....i use old clean hospital towels to wipe them over after cleaning....if there is any clear on the gun little bits if towel fibre stick to it and then you know....if it wipes clean then your good.

Hi Al,

What grease do you use in the gun and where does it go?  A picture showing the areas would be awesome. :-)

I was worried the grease could contaminate the paint?

Cheers
