He charges top dollar and just does a crap job. This guy has no pride in his work and the result is frankly embrassing.
I need a good chromer in SEQLD that is reasonably priced, closer to Ipswich QLD the better, but if I have to post interstate I will, I just need someone who can give me a good result every time and I don't mine paying for a good service...

Hi Ken
I know you are looking for an electroplater close to you if possible, however, I need to get my 175CD air cleaners rechromed and am thinking about giving these guys a go. http://www.scookands...restoration.htm
I have no prior personal experience with their workmanship so it's the blind leading the blind.
Cheers
Dave.

Used a place in Melbourne to get this little lot done, might not seem like much work but the door handles (only 2 shown in pic) needed to be sent to QLD to be resin dipped then profiled then sent back to Melb. for chroming, lot's of fiddly shit involved and it is 70+ yrs. old and was pretty well frokt. $1500 .Thanks Vince.

If it is he was the clown who run down Pine Rivers Electroplaters until the business caved.
When it shut down my hatchback scuff plates went with him. Theif.
Anyway I used a place just off Gold Coast Hwy.

These guys were really busy but professional and do a great job.

Can I ask? Why do people in the southern parts of the country always expect to find a service close to home, what's wrong with sending stuff away further then the next suburb over?
We hillbillies always have to send anything and everything all over the country to get work done. It's part of life living in the sticks.

Pine Cone Rivers are/were a joke. I remember some stuff of mine was over 12mths to do. Got every excuse under the sun why it took so long. I used to call them once a month to give the hurry up.

Yeah been there done that, used to send my chroming to Tassie, express post one day would arrive in Tassie the next morning.
I guess the problem with posting is it's good to see the result on the spot. Like last week I went to pickup two items, I asked him on the spot to redo one as was below standard, picked that one up today....hard to do that when you post something....
