Jaws of life will help haha
can you get your door skin off?
if your key is not working and the lock itself is all ok the rod might of come out of the lock.
you will need to get to this to push or pull it.. or of the rod has come out of the mechanism you will need to get to it to unlock it..
not being familiar with lj lc door im guessing someone may come up with another option..
do you have central locking??

If all else fails, I'm sure some fifteen year old delinquent could get it open in three seconds flat... but seriously...
I agree with Hutch, I'm not gonna post instructions on how to break into a Torana but practice on the other door with the trim off, although if neither the key barrel nor the inside lock button work I'd say the problem is in the lock itself, it's unlikely that both rods would become disconnected at the same time?
I'm not familiar with the little Torana's doors specifically but I've had to destroy a door trim before to get into a door in a similar situation, it's either that or grab the plasma cutter and cut yourself an inspection hole (yes I'm serious).

Sounds to me like the link has come off between the door cylinder and the latching mechanism, which disables both inside and outside handles, although internal unlock knob should still work (that's the bit that makes what you describe weird).
Takes about 5-10 minutes with a coathanger. As your window is down, it will be easy to look down in the door with a flashlight and plastic scraper to pull the rubber back to guide the wire to the right spot.
Hope that works for you.
