as stated do they fit 7 on front and 8 on the back with HQ brakes and no flares.
is it necessary to repeat the question when it is in the title.

if the rims have the right backspacing they will fit, my old torry use to run 14x8's on the rear with a 265 tyre and 14x7's on the front with a 225 tyre

not quite sure what you mean by standard HQ backspacing , do you mean they are the same backspacing as say a 6" GTS rim, thus giving you a outer rim that is one inch further out on the front (over a standard 6" rim) and 2 inches further out on the rear, if this is the case then it is the same as the combo I had and should fit with the right tyres, I also rolled the lip on the gaurds to get them to fit , also be aware that the wheels are an even tighter squeeze if the springs are lowered

This car has 14X7 front 225/60 X14 and 14X 8 rear with 245/50 X 14.
These were in Torana pattern but I'm sure this wouldn't change things.
It also had a 9 inch diff but I would assume it was the same width as std.

to slr5640 did you have any problems with the front tyres on that white torana hitting the front of the wheel arch on the front guard.
was the bottom of the guard folded in and was there a front spoiler.
cheers T.

The tyres did catch at the lower front of the wheel arch. Fixed this with a hacksaw by cutting off a diagonal section, and was not that noticeable.
Yes the guard lip was folded over by a panel beater. Did a very nice job. No ripples.
No front spoiler.
Cheers.
