Hi guys,
I recently purchased a pair of bushes for my trailing arms and the only ones available locally seems to be manufactured by Kelpro.

I've used Mackay bushes in the past and have been happy with the result. The first difference I noticed about the kelpro bushes compared to the Mackay ones is the the inner steel tube protrudes probably about 5mm past the rubber. On the Mackay bushes the rubber finishes pretty much flush with the inner tube.

My thoughts are that the Mackay bushes would possibly have better support if there was any sort of sideways leverage or twisting. What do you guys think?

Has anyone had any experience with the kelpro trailing arm bushes, good or bad? I'd like to know if they're worth using or if I should return them and avoid any problems and track down some Mackay bushes instead.

Thanks JD

Mackay make the bushes currently sold by Holden as genuine bushes

Tiny has Kelpro bushes in his Monaro

Removed the Nolathane and says its the best thing he ever did

I give up on plastic style bushes years ago. Never had a good run out of them due to splitting after about 5,000 km. I use Mackay rubber bushes in my vehicles.

I have just talked to Edan on the rubbers and the culprit was that i had the old stock mackay which to me are poorly made

Rares have since changed and remade them themselves, i have seen pics of the new ones and i'm happy to say very pleased with what iv'e seen .

so  sorry if iv'e given anyone any reason not to purchase  their new rubbers .

cheers Maz

I got hold of some Mackay bushes which I'm now happy to have as their products are more like the original holden items than the other ones I had from kelpro. The kelpro bushes are probably fine once installed but I personally prefer the Mackay bushes myself.

The first time I saw these I was surprised that the inner tube was rolled and not made out of a section of steel tube, you'd think using a section of tube would be easier than rolling a flat plate.
