Hi guys as some of you would be aware i am converting from manual to auto and trying to locate  an LC floor shift loom

and i am not having ant luck sourcing one, so now i will source the column auto loom as im thinking it would be the same

ive seen a molested loom from a guy who said his auto column has the purple wires for ignition at same place the green wires are for reverse down bottom of column,so basically im just asking to be sure.this pic just shows where the reverse wires are on column....Do the purple ignition wires plug in down there too?....T.I.A

Purple wires should be there somewhere with the green back up wires. The switch on the auto models is combined back up and neutral start.

i thought that too.i pulled out my lj on column to see if they were on it .but not there,...with manual there is only one wire going from ignition

to solenoid with auto there is two one from ignition to inhibitor switch on selector.the other goes back through the loom to solenoid to complete the circuit.

i think thats how it goes.not sure though

That pic looks like a manual trans car.

Is that the clutch pedal near the column & the brake pedal just to the right & up a bit ?

S pack is correct, the reverse & inhibitor switch is one piece & all 4 wires (2 x green & 2 x violet) should plug into it.

Also the harness for column auto & floor shift auto is the same, they simply add a plug-in extension piece.

The violet wires and connector may be hiding under the vinyl floor mat and underlay but they should be there not too far away from your reverse switch wires and plug.

AFAIK column shift manual models have the connector in the violet wire and a looped wire connector that plugs in to complete the circuit.

What do you mean by a looped wire connector  Dave.just disconnect that and an put a plug on then join it to the small loom to selector.is that what you mean.

Isn't the illumination circuit a Grey wire ?

Yes, grey wire on LC/LJ. I believe the electric kick down switch on the LJ uses an orange wire.

Yes, that looks correct. The 2 plugs in pic 1 will plug into the sockets in pic 4. Also as TerrA LX has said, the plugs in pic 2 (pictured with the globe) will plug directly onto the shifter switch.

The photos do seem distorted though, the plug proportions don't look 'real'.

i told him the plugs in pic 4 needs to be changed.they are complete different...

its an easy fix i know

If you re-read what I wrote, it is the same as what the seller said.

Also some of those photos are distorted, so as you don't get the correct proportions of the plugs.

I think if you see these in real life, you will see that they will fit.

Can anyone tell me that the light socket does go in that blue holder.the dude who made the loom for auto shifter says hes 99% right

that the globe and holder is the right one.but i cant find anywhere it goes .its too big.i first thought it went at that front hole to console but thats just too far away from the selector to work.i did ask a fella for a pic of socket in his 4cyl (below) but he said it doesn fit in the blue thingy and his could of been made up.tried to make a cover for the globe then said stuff it haha.

He's full of shite. The blue plastic fitting is the bulb mask. The bulb is a mini wedge type and it's plastic holder pushes into the mask.

The bulb and bulb holder is or should be the same as the ash tray lamp in HJ - WB Holden, probably HQ also.

I'll put up a pic later.
