Fitting an autometer sport comp fuel level gauge to my LJ.

Standar s fuel tank and sender.

Guage when wired up goes well off the scale, so assuming the sender is of a varied resistance that is not compatible with the gauge.

So has anyone had a solution?

All depends on the ohms (resistance). There's a variety of gauges, sounds like you have the wrong one.

Yeah, was a second hand lot of gauges, so didnt get a choice in that.

Wondering if I can sort it, worst case, no fuel gauge, but that said, the old one barely worked either, so no big change haha

Is there anyway to tell which resistance I have? I havent been able to find anything online that identifies them

A fuel gauge interface module can be used to match a gauge to a sender.

The LJ fuel sender can be modified to comply with the ohms range that the gauge requires.

Firstly the gauge will need to be bench simulated to establish it's ohms range.

Then the sender's output resistance range can be modified to suit the gauge.

Alternatively, your original gauge and sender can be repaired to function correctly.

If you need help with this, PM me.
