Hi,

Just picked up the latest copy ( at least I think it is, as it is printed as "Dec -Feb 2015""??)

of RACER magazine "Australia's most Technical Motorsport Magazine".

I thought it was Grant's car at first!

Has two detailed  tech stories on red LJ track cars, on the cover as well.

Make a good stocking filler for the track heads.

Col,

there has been a lot of secret squirrel business going on at my place lately, diffs, new  suspension back and front new shocks etc, UC upper control arms , motor coming out for a refreshen up   - It is all planned to happen once the new year starts - 10 days of surgery.

Once i get the Rebels cleaned up they will be going on as well and then  it will look pretty close.

Must find that mag looks like a good read.- better than sox and undies

pretty much so, i'll let you know as they are being broken down at the suspension place but they look the same. the upper ball joint is laid back about 20-25 mm.

the internal shaft looks the same, bushes the same  - I'm told they fit with no issues.

As far as I'm aware all the 6 cylinder Holden's from this era use the same bushes, so there's a good chance that side of things will work out well.

Cool.

I know whats invonlved in fitting them to a LH/LX, jack all, it never occured to me to trial fit some to a LC/LJ back when I had a few sets laying around.

Sounds like a plan about to bear fruit Grant.

Good on you.

Can I ask what shocks and springs did you end up selecting?

Col as I had to pull the whole driveline out to fix the upper control arm bushes which meant dropping the K frame it all just became one big job that needed to happen at once, I intend to keep the car long term so I just decided to bite the bullet. The decision was made to go with the SPAX as you can adjust them without taking out the shock which makes them better long term for fine tuning at the track and for different tracks.

If I went with the KONI I  then needed to get them re valved which was another cost ontop of the shock, it still left me with the problem of adjustment and undoing them  from the chassis turning them and then re fitting them.

suspension concepts - greg nowlan

King springs all round

28 bump and rebound  adjustments SPAX shocks   - but you can put these shocks in at any time with little effort

Hi Adam

There is a picture of the mag at this post.

http://www.gmh-toran...duction-torana/

Seems it is only available in the lager newsagents

You might be able to get it as a back issue. They have a web site https://racemagazine.com.au/ and a Facebook page https://www.facebook...gazine/?fref=ts

Hope this helps

Steve
