That is the HX LE Bomber, it was meant to be a Caprice coupe. GMH made the Monaro LS in HQ and HJ, and they are coded exactly what they look like ie as a Premier coupe. The gun car is the HQ LS optioned with L30, M41 but you could also get just about any other HQ engine and box except for MC7 4spd so you'd be happy. There was only about 80 6cyl HJ LS made, but lots more HQ.

Looks like it Dave. possibly their Newcastle St site. Still there, selling HSV's & the like.
I remember some angry person torching a HSV Commo out front of the showroom last year.

Look at all those HK, HT, HG and HQ! You'd take that HK sedan everyday at $1600 odd. Even the old Val. The HG GTS is probably a V8 at that price.

What a time warp. I'd give my left nut to be able to walk into a Holden Dealer today and take a brand spanking new LJ XU1 for a test drive.
How many brand new 1972 LJ XU1's do you guys reckon City Motors would have sold? I'll guess about 20 tops.

......that white HK Kingswood is the same car as my wifes first car.( ex Granny's hand me down )
I resprayed it in her parents garage one weekend......lets just say that if the matt look, vinyl wrap look, was 31 years earlier, then I was a trend setter.
The flattest gloss ever....but hey , it was my first go.!!
....never did get around to buffing it up....

I still have two of them stashed for donors for Monaros. One beige/beige 186 all synchro and the other (cut up into bits to get it on the mezzanine) white/red 186 crash.

Metro Motors comes to mind also ,they were on Scarborough Beach Road in Osbourne Park and also on Walter Road Morley.Thanks for the great pics!

Hood stripes were only introduced with the release of the GTS 4 door sedan in March 73 & then were also available on the 2 door. This looks like a 72 GTS 2 door, so would not have hood stripes.
