This is an event being organised and run by the HTCAV to honour a much loved member of our club.

John was a great guy and member of the HTCAV. He raced a 327 Monaro but his love was his Valiant Pacer which he was in the progress of getting back together when he was diagnosed with Cancer. John tried to beat this horrible affliction but it finally beat him on the eve of the AGP last year.
The club decided in his memory to have this sprint/ family fun day to remember him. We have 90 entries for the meeting. Several members who haven't raced or had their cars out for a have brushed them down and decide d to bring them out for the day.
Russel Pilven is bringing his very rapid multiple club championship winning Datsun 1600 out for the day. I'm getting my LC XU1 out as well.

It is being held at Calder this Sunday 21 February, nearly 12 months since John died. He was taken from us waaaay too soon. It's a family fun day with timed laps and also laps being done behind a pace car with passengers.
His wife will be there on the day and many if his mates from the car club.

It will be a sad day but promises to be fun at the same time.

He is greatly missed. I feel it as much as anybody as I was diagnosed with Leukemia before him and I'm still here and he's gone.

I will try and get some photos of the day and post them here afterwards.

Cheers guys
Peter

The John Brash Dash was a great day.
The awards for the day went to Vince Parisi with his just completed Simca Vedette and Gregg Rogers in his Indycar powered 700 HP powered Space frame LJ Torana sports sedan.
There were 90 entries for the 1 day meeting. John would have been doing handsprings. Nearly all cars went home with no panel damage, only one blew up in a big way an EH Holden
Thanks to all the volunteers and our club members that organised the event. It went ff without too many problems.
