Some blokes have used xr6 turbo on stocker injected 5 litres...boost comes on fairly early...but for tightarse budget setup on stock engines they work fine just stay with tall diff gears & small stally.
Check out guys on av8 site have several turbo holdens.
They can give you links to better $5-600 turbo's all depends on budget.

Thats a pretty open ended question, are you planning any other mods? Cam, stall, diff gears, comp ratio, head work, piston change, etc, or just putting it on a stock engine and holding it pinned?
If the latter, single will be fine, at the end of the day the engine its off is only a litre smaller and a way better breathing engine...
Depends on which turbo your talking about to, they changed a fair bit during the years, the latest ones are quiet a bit higher trim than the earlyer ones.
Cheers.

well im at the planing stage for the engine but i have a 9inch with 411 diff , beefed up t700 at the moment, ive stripped down the engine but i was planning to turbo it, i dont want a horse power heroes engine just a nice weekender with some thing different under the hood, i dont want to rev the shit out it all the time, so i was thinking stud girdle with rebuild engine maybe forged pistons the heads tickled up a bit and a turbo cam maybe 8 - 10 pounds of boost if i can, thats why i asked about the ford turbos if two would be better than one ? but im not even sure if they will fit under the hood mite be just dreaming

single is simplest & easiest way...if going more than a cam may as well buy proper turbo, not expensive. 8-10 lbs stockers can live with a good tune or they'll pop headgaskets.
4.11's no good for boost, highways gears like 3.00-3.25 better, depends on tyre.
th700 will only handle low boost...torque will kill them.
