Hi All.

I have in recent times purchased a March 1973 2 door LJ Torana.

As such I am a new member to the forums and will be requiring guidance and direction in several areas.

Thanks to all in advance !

I have pulled the heater box out as it requires restoration.

First up I got the heater core pressure tested and cleaned up.

The back end reservoir was full of rusty gunk and required to be stripped and cleaned.

Thanks to the boys at ANDRAD Marrickville - top service and quality job.

Can someone advise where the foam/sponge is required ?

Whatever was in there had disintegrated.

I know foam/sponge is required on either side of the flap, however required to the perimeter of the heater core housing ?

Any photos available to assist me ?

Your advice and direction is greatly appreciated.

thanks dattoman.

Overview shot of heater core helps a great deal.

Looks like not much foam used at all.

I picked up some 4.5mm finer filter foam. Look similar to original.
Also found some 3m sealant for the rebuild.

Thanks Lc69.

Where did you source the filter foam ?
Sealant applied to perimeter of heater box and sandwich base plate to it ?

There's a build thread on here, and I have more pictures if needed.
I'm also assembling mine now, so let me know if you need anything.

Thanks for the build thread advice.
I'm on my way !

Anyone out there knows where I can source the cup head bolts ?
I had to shear one off with the Dremel as nut & thread were rusted shut (I tried over many days to remove - at the end it gave me the shites !).
In metric scale they are 4mm diameter by 70mm long.
If anyone has any I can purchase or steer me in the right direction as I have tried the web and could not find anything.
Thanks in advance.
