I believe the K = McKinnon Industries St Catherines, Ontario, Canada and the 0124 = January, 24th Day.

It is out of a Pagewood (Sydney) assembled HK, assembled in 1969, probably around March-April-ish. It is pretty close to the end of HK. Could be from any HK from Belmont to Brougham except GTS327.

The block was cast on 22nd January 1968 and engine assembled on 24th January 1968, both cast and assembled at McKinnon Industries in Canada.

Dave, McKinnon Industries and St Catharine's are the same thing just at different times. Prior to 1969 McKinnon Industries was a subsidiary of GM and produced SBC design engines (technically not a Chev engine as they were not a Chevrolet division and didn't go into Chevrolet vehicles in the main). After 1969 GM Canada became part of GM, and the McKinnon Industries plant became GM of Canada St Catharine's.

Yes the plant may have changed names but McKinnon Industries was situated in the city of St. Catherine's in Ontario, Canada, so I believe what I posted is technically correct.

Ah yes, I get it now, I didn't read St Catharine's (with an a not an e) as the City but as the plant's name in your post. My bad!
