Rear 1 is dizzy for an auto, blanked on a manual.

2 is PCV as you have.

4 should be the purge on the canister (ported vacuum) - used also with a T-piece for dizzy vacuum advance on a manual.

1 or rear 2 is for the aircleaner heat flap. I'll figure out what the other one is later. The carb is actually too late for an LX unless it is most A9X, it is actually a HZ carby. The right carby is a 17056280 (the first few A9X's had this carby too) . Won't make much difference though.

Thanks for the info yel327

Heads im throwing on are ported so didnt want to strangle them running the original 2 barrel and manifold hence the change to 4, hopefully put a bit of kick into the 253

Car is 12/77 so pretty late but not A9X unfortunately  :D

It is the right carby then assuming for a moment that GMH would have fitted one to a red 4.2L.

Just checked the HZ diagram (see attached) and referring to your numbers on the picture:

1 goes to the front port on the RH side plastic Xmas tree on the inlet manifold (rear port to the EGR valve) (applicable to auto only as manual don't have an EGR valve). Torana may be the opposite on the Xmas tree.

2 is PCV.

3 is canister purge.

4 goes to the rear port on the TCS solenoid (side port of TCS goes to the dizzy via a delay valve, front port goes to the front port of the passenger side plastic Xmas tree. Middle port of Xmas tree plugged. Rear port to intake manifold).

Rear 1 is the pipe that goes to the air cleaner switch up near the carb opening.

Rear 2 I don't know. I don't recall seeing that on a HZ carby before.

Rear 2 is the fresh air supply to the auto choke heater.

^^Voila Dr Terry! I had it stuck in my head that the choke air supply came from the air cleaner but that was the HQ-HJ engines that did that.
