i know the commy alternator bracket WITH A/C definitely doesn't fit!

Commy bracket with A/C definately won't fit as suggested (and tried by myself on a 308 in LH)
I believe T0rana got a Commy alternator to fit on her LX 253 though, I can only assume it was the non A/C type then!
Can always try and find out, not an overly lengthy procedure to test/eliminate.
