Hello all

where is the best place to get the wiring harness conversion from. I have the original VT harness and PCM.

so far ive looked into the Rodshop, V6conversions and CAE.

they vary in price and how they do it.

so im just asking what experience people here have had and which way i should go.

thanks for your help :)

Carried out all the wiring myself, not an electrician but its not that hard if your electrically minded. The only thing I couldn't do myself was the reprograming of the E.C.M from auto to manual so sent it to Calmaker in S.A for a new memcal.  Are you running a Holden or Chev VT engine?

Mine is also a 5lt, I purchased a book published by Gregory's from Repco some time ago for around $45.00. The book I have from memory is version 3 which includes many other manufactures plus V6 & V8 Holden engines up to VS   They contain wiring diagrams and information on repairs relating to all the fault codes for that particular engine. Very good diagrams and easy to understand text and repair procedures. I think Gregory's  version 4 has the VT 5lt included in it. These books only relate to E.F.I component and electrical and don't touch on rebuilding the engine, just what you need to check through to insure all the hook up are correct and the wire identification.

I connected the original VS wiring harness to a VZ fuse box due to being compact with mini fuses and relays. And a point to connect the LH wiring into which is only a few wires. My coil, map sensor and some other electrics are behind the redundant heater blower and ECM inside below the A/C evaporator. The only difference between VS & VT is the sequential injection wiring and some distributor changes.

vs v6 wiring diagram is fairly close..if you check pinouts on ecu/harness v8 just has 2 extra wires for injectors & obviously different for coil but easy enough.

Think used 2 relays + fuse for maf & some wiring.Used tachiometric relay you get from lpg joints...it's triggered off coil to run fuel pump.

Used that to do away with bulky commo oil sender thing so could neaten harness & use the factory oil & water senders
