G'day all.

One of the top :spoton: motor shows is back on TV.

Yes ! "Top Gear" is back on SBS at 7.30 pm Monday nights.

Last night they tested a new Beamer and also gave a glowing reference for the Monaro, well they do call it a Vauxhall over at the ol' Dart.

They also tested 3 small cars ( Pew-Jo, Ren-O and Jazza) but the fellas didn't do the testing  Their mothers' did :spoton: Go The Grannys.

Got to admit, one of them was a bit of a rev-head and gave her hard riding little buzz-box a gutfull and spun the wheels in the process. :spoton:

Tune in next Monday night 7.30 pm SBS. If not at home, tape it.

Regards .................. Barry

I dunno about best show ever...

Did anyone see it a couple of weeks ago, they played soccer with teams of new Toyotas (?), the really cheap ones?

That was pretty cool, they nearly rolled on a couple of times.

Hey Barry,
Bit off the topic but interesting: Coincidence or looking after a mate....
Tom Walkingshaw is the man that put the money behind exporting the Monaro's to the UK under the GM Vauxhall brand, Just so happens that the Tall bloke on Top Gear lives right next door to Tom at his UK address and they are very good mates maybe his very positive opinion in the coupe is more than just an opinion maybe he's sureing up his own investment?????
Mind you there's not a lot of people who don't like the Aussie built Pontiac/Vauxhall/Buick/Holden coupe with the Chev engine is there. LOL :D

Regards

Pretty good show, but they tend to like euro cars, and hang poo on US made cars. Interesting that when they did the test on the Monaro it was up against a supercharged 4.2 Jag.

Good for a laugh :spoton:

Best show IMO then, I'd like to see a show better than it...

Possibly not the best show. Second best show IMO (behind Chaser, naturally - 9:40pm Friday Nights, ABC)

Excellent viewing.

I loved it when they tested three super cars on the road in France. They got stuck in the car park cause the cars were too low. Jeremey's Ford GT had to stop at every petrol station. Top Gear, hilarious. Go onto YouTube.com and watch top gear till ur hearts content. Waste the day away :spoton:

Hehe - Yeah when they were bagging J's GT for being too wide was a good laugh.

The other one I liked was when they all bought a Porche each with a budget of 1500 quid.....Jeremy's 944 was such a dud :D

As someone has said, they have heaps of them on youtube.com I've watched a few on there and its the stuff that is coming up in our current season (which is 2005 I think) being shown on monday night.

The monaro ones are awesome. Simple, clunky, old technology but we luv em type attitude. They really liked it and its grunt and ability to do huge power slides, hehe

Or when they tried to destroy the hilux...Three times. (or was it four?). Or when Hammond gets hypnotised and forgets how to drive a car (by Paul Mckenna no less). :spoton:

Tha show is the best. =p

I've only ever seen the bit they did on the Monaro when they were playing Men at work and Kylie Minogue etc.
The language was fairly colorful and they sure loved the big Aussie 2 door !

To quote JC re the Monaro...

"The traction control has 2 settings, On and Off"
