i went to fit my front spoiler which came off my flared SLR, but it seems way too short! are there different spoilers for unflared cars?

has anyone got one or know where i can get one?

cheers.

There is only one front spoiler for Torana's, the returns are just cut back if you have flares.

You need to buy a new one. I'd buy the flare one off you, but already have one off the last forumer with this problem.

The SS had a one piece front spoiler, the A9X had a two piece version...

eBay is one option, a private second hand sale through these forums is another, and brand new purchase through certain fibreglassing companies is another.

Also, decide which style (SS or SLR/L34/A9X) and which material (Fibreglass or Plastic) you would like. If you don't know what a certain type looks like then PM me and i'll find you a good photo.

Put a thread in the "wanted" section with your location, and people can either recommend which spoilers are good value on eBay and point out which aren't as good quality. They can also sell you their own ones they have lying around the house, or point you in the direction of a recommenable fibreglassing company in your town or city.

Good luck

Rare Spares sell em, as do a number of Body Styling shops. Believe all the aftermarket ones are fibreglass.

Was aware of two and one piece spoilers, but in terms of the return, only one length in the returns, which gets trimmed for flares. Steer clear of one piece spoilers, very poor fit.

you will find front spoilers from about $100 on ebay if you are lucky but then you will need to pay postage or then anywhere up to $150/$200 am after one myself actually :spoton:

Body kit shops --> $160-$180, add $50 for colour matched and painted.

Put some blue tack on the two panel bolts that correspond with the brake duct mounting holes. Push spoiler up in position, drill holes where the shiny spot is left. Mount the spoiler on these two holes first (bolts go through about 3 different panels, 4 with the spoiler so they are a pain in the butt). Fit self tappers to others. Remove self tappers if you want to go nut and allen bolts (pain in ass as well). Nutserts might be the go here, cause you always loose the nuts down the front apron if you ever have to remove em.

Constantly check for alignment and fit.

thanks yella.

so those two bolts are the ones next to the blinkers?

once marked and drilled, do you pull those bolts out and use them to mount the spoiler?

you said to fit self-tappers to the others. what 'are' the others? i'm guessing the ends of the spoiler and into the quarter panels somewhere?

cheers.

fitted a rear spoiler on the weekend. boot lid and spoiler came off the SLR i had and holes in boot lid were already there.

now fitted to the LH, the spoiler sits down on the boot lid fine, but sticks out at the back, enough to fit my fingers between the inside of the spoiler and the back of the bootlid.

Is it supposed to be like that? or is it supposed to sit flush?

Cheers.
