can some one please give me the run down on the process please,.

started with 2000.

Is got more hits than the Beatles and more scrapes than a working girl, with a few warts burnt off

"DJ" aka Bomber would be the best bet for some sort of run down on the process , they reckon acryl. needs about a week to go

off in good conditions after applying about about 6-8 coats before we get stuck into into it with 800 wet rub then get into it carefully with the buff wheel to take a few layers off to make it look like glass ?

Who the hell uses acryl. these days ? 2 pack is modern way isn't it ?

So long as it's flat now Grant, I'd use farecla cutting compound on a flat 6" foam pad, wipe it all of when finished, use some swirl remover with a flat 6" pad again wipe it all down again, & then skip to a waffle pad using meguires wet look or bowdens, auto glym ect. & then a hand polish, will turn out well, please do not use silicone based products, Simples

& yes when you repaint it, 2 pack is the only way to go mate

1200 wet n dry show car look 1500 grit, that many different types of cutting compound around specific to acrylic but the septone one works ok, pink foam pad for acrylic. You may want to finish off with a swirl remover compound and a grey foam pad on the buff then a hand polish. Happy buffing.

Is it flat? If its not peely you should be able to skip the sandpaper.

Been a long while since ive done acryl laquer, but i used to find it best to start hard and fast if theres enough paint, mr buff by septone gets everything ready for finishing steps, but does remove a fair chunk of paint.

Last few cars i have done, used 1500 on round 5 inch orbital sander, then gone 2000 soft sponge disc, followed by 3000 soft sponge disc. Don't need much buffing at all, and no scratches or swirl marks.
