Hi gents.im interested in purchasing one of
the compressors below but undecided on which
to get.need to get one so i can purchase a
small blaster to do small jobs ..inside
plenum,inner sills behind lower guards etc
so i can repair the areas etc..sick of not
being able to progress on the 4dr so i got to
get one otherwise i wont get anywhere..lol..

Both are peerless brand .first is the p17
single stage 55ltr tank,320 lpm max pressure
145psi,the other is the php 15 high pressure
300lpm same tank but a 2 stage max psi 150/175
Im leaning towards the latter. Was really
wanting a good 17cfm so i could do more
continuious blasting but just cant afford a
good.seen some cheapies but i doubt they
produce 500+ cfm for 12-1400 bills .they
would have to b rubbish..1500 is the budget

If you are looking at the P17 which is 15A, the equivalent would be one of the following 2 Renegades ones.

I was gonna get one of those 2 but went a different way in the end for ultra quiet.

I asked a fella on ebay what was the cfm
rating of his blaster which was between 8 to
25 cfm and mentioned for it to b efficient was
to have a 20cfm comp

Yeah the fad for the p17 says 330 and close
to 12cfm looks like 320 on sticker.price
$1269

The 15p says Fad 11cfm.. was just thinking
If there was an affected area that needed
more psi this one would b better.but i dunno.

Price $1455 can get them both here....

So you go by the free air delivery more than
psi?

What Mark said, if you are serious about ANY sort of basting at home you are going to need as big of a compressor that you can get your hands on, its gonna have to be 3HP and 15Amp to even be in the hunt.

 

With those cheap hand piece and spear that you poke in a bucket of media blasters, you need to make sure it comes with a few nozzles so that you can adjust the nozzle size to the point where the compressor just keeps up with it, best to find a blaster with ceramic inserts as the cheap metal ones the metal nozzle erodes quite quickly.

 

I've got a home made Bead Blaster cabinet set up with a 3HP compressor (18CFM rated) and one of the above mentioned hand pieces and there have been times where extra air is needed, to the point where I've run an extra air line over to the neighbours and use his compressor Tee'd in for a bit of extra air!

Good .they seem cheaper but i dont have the
faintest on their reliability .

To keep costs down have been trying to find
one suitable here (tas) but are very slim
Melb is as far i want to look.im pretty keen
was going to get one of those peerless comps
tomorrow but if i need more fad i gotta
keep looking

The one i just looked at on ublast is 15cfm
Air displacement ratings

Piston 15cfm 467 l/m

Fad 10.4 294l/m

Max psi 115

Has more cfm but fad is slightly less than

peerless

we use one of these - only just got it about 6 months ago - no trouble with it - does what its meant to - make sure you have a good water trap - 3 style one

Cool...yeah i bought a cheap 3 stage bout a
year ago..was around 230-240 to put on
brothers comp but didnt eventuate.i gather the comp i buy will have a water trap .i will run
a hose from that and mount this one on the
wall.

Ok im gonna get one of those peerless very
shortly and if i need to do bigger areas i will rent a 10 cfm and join it up to mine.brothers
might even b enough..

Rent shouldnt b too much for a days work..

I might just do that bud 😊 My brother has an
old colt with a 40-50 litre on it.

I will check out the newys run time duty
cycle .it should handle it easy.wont b doing
much but would like to do engine bay later..

She a good little seup up Grant.im just about
to order the blaster from Ublast 36 bills
posted to my door.thats pretty cheap also
getting a couple bags of aluminium oxde.
unsure of grade to get as paint is thin and
only surface rust in areas.i think the worst
Is where water bottle was in engine bay its
pitted .80 mesh is about 2mmm 120 is about 1mm
I'll grab a bag of both.

Here i was yesterday at united tools getting
the gear and line fittings to put the 3
stager after the compressor when she goes on
the blaster..tutts.

With the peerless it also has a rear outlet
aswell.will make it easy to join extra tank
on the rear..

Havnt actually set her up in shed yet as its
soo messy in there.was thinking of putting
it between sheds and make a metal cage with
a cover so it runs abit cooler and the noise
just abit of a pita to turn off and drain ea
time its used..

i end up getting the aluminium oxide.bit
pricey but.

I have buggerall rust or pitted areas on car
Paint is very thin aswell.just thought maybe
The glass might b too agressive?
i was going to get walnut as it doesnt
profile, change the surface.
