Hey guys, I am looking on putting some 14's on my Torana as I am finding 13" tyres at a decent width to be too damn expensive.

I have some rims, my question is, what is a decent performing 14" tyre that isnt going to break the bank?

Cheers

People might not like my choice of tyre but i just bought a pair of Nankangs 205/60/14's for around $100 each. I got them off the tyre mob i normally go to and they are a good bunch and the owner of the business has them on his own ute so they can't be half bad.

I've got 15 in Nankangs on the back of the hatch. Great tyres. Good wearing, good grip.
Will buy again.

The tyres I have on these rims now are 195/70's.

Apparently they are a 5 1/2" rim.

What is the biggest tyre I can put on these rims?

Cheers

I just went to a tyre place this arvo and asked about 14 in tyres and the bloke rolled his eyes, sighed and said "I got two types, Michellan and Bridgestone T/A's"
(215/65/14)
The Michellans are a silicone tyre, very quiet, long lasting, good mileage. $125
The Bridgeys are noisey, wear quick and are not the old 340 eager pattern. $130
Looked better than the Michellans though.
Can still get 340 eagers in 235/60/14. About $230, but with that pattern, why? No grip....

GT radials are cheap and I know of people getting 70000 km out of them..grip is good.

Can get them at O'briens Automotive in Milden rd Tuggerah.

Ian

thats the madison m60
they also do a 205/60/14 is that pattern.i've fitted these to a couple of cars.
they are made by bridgestone (well are made in there factory)
everyone who uses them loves em and they last too.

gt radials are also good but they don't make the gtx in 14"

i've heard that the sumitomo's are suposto be good to but i've had no personal experiance with them.
