Guys,My bonnet release cable on the LX just broke the other day = can these be bought new from Rare Spares? or do I need to scour for an old one at the wreckers?.I seen on Rare Spares site they list a HX one new but is this the same as LX??,I would think it would be longer at least?,also universal ones but I dont like them as the handles not like the original LX type HELP

You should be able to pick a new one up from the wreckers for about 20 bucks. The LH/LX/UC ones should all fit

Keith ,I am in Rockingham = guys I reckon I will look at the wreckers around here but it depends how much the bastards want!?$$$ some of these wrecker mobs charge a bloody fortune!..........

Don't pay anymore than $30.00 bcause you can buy them in Sydney for
$50.00 or less

The HX one will fit but is longer. You use these if you want to hide the cable under the guard. You might be able to cut it down if you want the standard torana length just remember to pull the inner out more so it not cut too short

Thats a bloody great idea mate,I will go to the wreckers for a HQ-HX cable and fit that so I can hide the cable

: I am in the process of giving the engine bay a complete makeover which is almost finished.I will go look for one tomorrow I think,Just hope I see a decent one?= mine broke whilst taking the bonnet catch off to take to the Chromers

Well guys,I bought a second-handy HX bonnet cable and hid the cable under the guard which turned out quite well(no ugly bonnet cable in view now

. I did have to make a small bracket up and fit under the guard to take up the slack of the longer cable but it was an easy job and well worth it. Engine bay is starting to look much better now (hooray)
