Hi Gents,

Just have a question regarding the Upper Black Metal Backings for LC GTR Doortrims.

Are they stamped with a GMH Part number anywhere, how much are they worth roughly, and where can you get them ?

So prices vary anywhere $1200-$1600 for a full set lakeside ?

Do they have GMH Part # stamped on them anywhere does anyone know ?

Petty much name your price. I was offered $800 for a rear set about 10yrs ago. They are a very rare item to find and buy.

I don't think they do have numbers, never noticed any.

No numbers that I've ever seen. $800 is usually the going rate for a set of 4.

That said a full set sold for $630 on ebay last week and $780 for a full set of the stainless tops.

What material are they made out of ? Just Tin or some sort of special material does anyone know ?

Mild steel sheet.

Some talk on the forum in the past about someone had made fibreglass ones.

If your talking about these then they are stainless and the same material as the gutter moulds. I have a few sets..

They don't rust...

Sorry guy's not reffering to the Stainless Strips like macdou has posted a pic of, i'm reffering to the larger backing pieces that sits under the door trims at the top.

macdou are you interested in selling a complete set of the stainless trims if you have a few sets ?

Thanks IMORAL, i have a lead on a set, a mate of a mates said he has 2 sets and may part with a set so i am going to check them out and if i can get them for a good price then i will grab them, if not i will PM LIMO.

The set on eBay last week that sold for $630 looked alright. I wouldn't pay more then $800 INMO. The fibre glass ones are an exact copy for half the price. No one will ever see them under the trim so I don't get the fuss. At the end of the day its what ever you are comfortable in paying.

I had a guy buy my last one so he could start making metal ones. Trouble is I lost his name and number. Hope he kept mine as he promised me a set at a good price lol

There was also a muscle car parts shop selling them for around $125 each but they always seem to be out of stock?

OLC383 has this set forsale. Complete set of metal tops. Stainless bits. Ash trays and arm rests and door cards. Rears modified for big tubs but all the good bits are there.
