Mate i think you better leave this one alone as it has been done to death a few weeks ago resulting in a few getting their botties spanked and the thread being locked.

Might as well lock this one too hey mods?

They either dont work(which I think is the real reason) or the mods have stopped them(due to a post race happening).

i can answer this one! reason is i asked tiny a few days back.

Unless you post in the technical section, the post count wont increase. Apparently designed in an attempt to stop the drivel you guys go on with :P but i guess increase the quality of posts in the technical section?

Doesnt really bother me, i just keep posting everywhere! Though if there is something that i can help with in the tech section im more inclined to now, instead of just thinking, 'oh someone else will get that'

Exactly. Posts arent counted unless they are posted in the Tech articles.

I was one of the ones responsible for it being modified.

But we were in a race bigger than '79 Bathurst!

As has been explained, The post count system was being abusied by some members previously so we as an admin team decided that we would stop the counts from rising in forums that are less "productive" than others.

You'll find that the tech area forums will progress the post counts as these were deemed to be of most use to members.

But remeber that post count really means little, most people that spend time on here know who the contributing members are wether they're full of tech knowledge or just keep the place alive!

Cheers. Hope that clears it up for everyone.

I am going to post everything in technical from now on ... NOT.
Explains why I thought mine had risen slightly ... I just dont take much notice of it. I am more likely to read some peoples replies in depth more than others once I work out if they are more for real or not. Others I read when I am feeling like ridiculing theirs ideas or know they just dribble on for no reason, not that this happens often.

What you;ve said is right pallbag. Most users after they;ve spent ANY time on teh forum get to know who the members are that really do know their stuff, those who contribute in other ways ( Humor opinions etc) and those who just spam away.

As FastEH said it's not about the quantity of posts.. its about the quality and a quality post doesnt neccesarily have to be written by a tech guru, or ask or answer a specific question!

Anyhow, it's amazing that its taken people so long to realise... ( though a few certainly did ask earlier).. it's been done for MONTHS!!

Goes to show how important they really are hey! :)

Cheers
