Went and had a look at what was to be an L34 with 75,000k and over 20 years same owner.

I must say I was sceptical, every Toranas is ether an SLR 5000, L34 or A9X, but you never know!!

Anyway, after a brief discussion it went from an L34 to an SL/R 5000 with an L34 motor, then to an L34 spec motor. I didnt want to go gobbing off, so I just mentioned that I believe it to be an genuine SL/R 5000 with matching tag with original block, but apart from that I didnt even offer a price in that condition, anyway check it out for yourself with the picsregards

Also still original colour, Deville Blue. If only didn't have another project on the go, I'd have a go at it. Plenty of practise in that baby.

Why oh why do peeps put LX livery on the LH's?

Oh, I forgot to tell you. He went inside and came back with the ashtray, and said, You know these things are worth heaps. Make you wonder what goes through peoples heads sometimes.

He wanted $10,000. He wanted me to make an offer, I said Its to valuable a car to you for me to make you an offer, thanks anyway.

If he'd let it go for a grand or so, I'd take it. Too much work to do to pay any more for it for the years of neglect there.

It's repairable by all means. No doubt that is a huge job, but L31s are worth money. Hopefully someone is prepared to take on this project... yeah it's pretty far gone but it could be fixed. Would be interested in seeing some more pics if you took any, HSVGTS.

Ten years ago this would not have even got a second glance probably, in ten years time no one would consider not repairing it.

What do you guys reckon it's worth? Even I in my current position would pay 3-5k for it.

...lol not that it really matters, but did you get her runnin?

I haven't seen the whole car, if it's all as bad as what you can see there then it definately is not worth it the repair at the moment, but the way prices are going, I'm sure it will end up being worth it (say in 20 or 30 years, when the car's value has skyrocketted) as it's still a matching numbers LH L31.

How many of these have you repaired?? Heath and at what cost?

None obviously. What does that have to do with anything? I'm not saying that I would have anywhere near adequate funding, equipment, time or expertise, and for defence's sake; theoretically if I bought this car and had $40,000 to spend on it, I would strip it all down and pay someone to do the welding repairs necessary. It might be three months of their full time work, but that's absolutely beside the point.

What are you getting at? I said this car is repairable, and that I hope someone takes it on as a project. You're just trying to make everyone think that I'm more of an arrogant little shit than I am. Why?

I said it was repairable, I did not mention a cost, I did not mention anyone a name.

If you disagree, then go and look at a Hotrodding or Vintage Restoration website. And I'm the one who gets called anal! FARK
