I have always thought that commo pattern rims on HQ was a bad thing as the little difference in PCD is enough to brake off a stud or two, which would be a little bit dangerous one would think.
But i have spoken to a person or two that have had simmons rims from commo's and put them on WB, HQ and HJ without any worries.
Can some of you highly enlightened people share your views on this topic, i am mainly asking as i have done a hopper stopper brake upgrade on the front and need a 15" rim, there are heaps of nice commo rims on ebay and the TP but sweet F all HQ bigger than 14"
Thanks again.

Easy way out is to buy yourself a new set of discs, get them as blanks and then have them drilled to Commo PCD.
Just cause it can be made to fit doesnt make it right.
You say a broken stud or two is "a little bit dangerous"
How dangerous is it when the entire wheel parts company from the vehicle at speed??

dont forget the hub is about 1mm different in size.
ive heard people on this forum working in wheel shops who have had to "operate" to remove commy simmo's from HQ.

pretty dangerous, i know this because i was following a mate home in a newly purchased torana and the fella he bought it off had just put on new tyres. He didnt tighten the wheel nuts enough and at 100kph the wheel shot off and all i could see following behind him was a large black object bounch off into the grass and an extremely impressive spark show (was at night time u see). Fun for the whole family

wasnt pissed off to start with, he was glad it was on the passenger side and pulled the car off to the left not right.
Pissed off came later when we saw the damage, busted up front quarter and a brake disc with a large flat bottom.
All is good now, he sold it to me about a year later after he had fixed it all up
