Looking for tyres in this 255/45/16 size, or even in a 50 profile might be ok.
Does any tyre manufacturer do this size?

G'day TORLX,

I have never seen 255/45-16's before but I believe the 255/50-16 is a 84 Corvette front tire size.

I like the Hoosier R6's :spoton:

As for somewhere to buy these on OZ?? a Corvette place?

245 was the widest I could find in 45 when I bought the 16x8 Billets. Wish I knew at the time tyre choices in 16's were limited when it came to witdth as I would have got 17's instead.

No such thing as a 265/45/16 Im told, but there is a 255/50/16 available as an import as Mat suggested. Found a place importing some Goodyears in this size.
Will have to check them out when they arrive.
Not really gaining that much more width from the 245 though, but the side wall is quite a bit higher.

I was sure Yokohama produced one in that size, but now they seem to have depleted sizes in their performance tyre section - not much for 16" wheels anymore! I'm happy with 225/50 and 205/50 on my simmons, but again - it comes down to personal preference!

are you after a bigger or smaller tyre ?

personally i have picked 205/45/16's for when i put the commodore brakes on as these keep the overall tyre size to almost identical to the 225/60/13's i have at the moment .... main thing for me was a decent tyre to fit the 16's and keep the overall size as close as i could.

the tyres are bridgestone G3's ... not cheap i know but worth it for the grip! and im not going to argue with a 45 series tyre on a torana :)

I already have the 205/45/16's on the front, and like you Sammy was aiming to get as close to the same rolling diameter as original.
At the moment I have 245/45/16's on the rear, but there is definitely room for a wider tyre there, hence searching for a 255.

Well that place finally got in the 255/50/16 Goodyears, but found out they are a street/strip tyre. Not really what I wanted. Too soft. But turns out they could get me a street tyre in a Sumitomo in that size. Only took a day and they had it on the shelf. :spoton:
So with a bit of gentle massaging the tyres are now on the hatch.
