Missed out on the new diff gears dam it!! placed 3 bids but should have bid more but how much is too much? Whilst I'm on this topic,In the last few weeks I changed the diff oil to straight 140 Penrite and under cold driving there is very minimal noise and hot driving is a fair bit louder but a lot better but still audible under acceleration. Someone said to me that the diff housing could be bent and this can sometimes cause this type of noise particularly when you consider that there have been three (3) fully reconditioned LSD centres in the car and all whine under acceleration and all around the 50-60mph speed. I was also asked whether I'd replaced the suspension rubbers in the rear which I haven't and as far as I know are the originals?

Is there any truth in the bent housing theory?

While you ponder the real issue, this stuff will shut it up for a while.

Nulon Smooth Shift G70.

I have used it in track car diffs that were LOUD even with a helmet on, 2 tubes  in diff...hey presto.
