I was hoping to identify these Hotwire wheel's.
They are 14X 9 1/4 and have "GH"stamped into the centre of the rim. They have some black texta markings on the inside that says 14X9 1/4 L34.
I understand Rory was in the tyre trade around when the L34 was getting around and thought he may able to shed some light on the origins of "GH".

I have more info about these wheels. They came off Barry Blacksells mid engined LJ Torana. I have never heard of Barry but I believe he is in the Geelong area.
He raced against or with Brock I am led to believe.
The wheels have sat around for the last 20 years or so and when I had the slicks removed I found these markings on the inside. Of course any one could have written it there at some stage and it could mean nothing at all.

14x91/4 was the fronts used on a ot of L34's but the ones I have seen have for racing purposes only embossed in them. It is posible they are Aungers and they could be Gown Hindough.

Yeah RED not everyone had the embossed race ones...the first run was taken up quickly when they sponored Goss with the XB hardtop..they looked that good that they were rushed with orders. I know Chalie O'Briens ones were just stock looking wheels with no markings on his L34.
Back to SLR,
Mate I would almost bet my left one you have a set of Gown Hindaugh EX L34 wheels off the Brock/Sampson car. Was a common practise to punch stamp them somewhere so us dumb arsed fitters didnt give the wrong teams the wrong wheels. You would have to measure them but some of the numbers will refer to offset...Looks like the goods to me Digger. Lucky mongrel!

Thanks R
I was hoping you could help with some more info before I posted the other pic. When I saw Brock's name I was keen to find out whether or not they were legit.
Brock was in Hamilton the other day doing signings so I had a friend take it up for him to take a look. He recognized it straight away as one of his wheels, but didnt say which car it came off.
He has scribbled across the original markings but its still visible.
If they are off the 75 car I would have been more than happy to return them to the original car however I have discovered the Gown/Hindaugh L34 was written off in Targa years ago. So what should I do with them coffee table??

Mate every Group C Torana racer will kill you to by them...Ask Chris Bowden...or go to a Muscle Car meeting with Group Cs and do some photocopy drop offs to the Torana drivers. Get ready for the stampede...I was going to say they looked pretty familiar..Brock just confirmed my aging memory.....

Don't sell them! Your coffee table idea was best. I mean no matter what money you get....what sounds better?

I HAVE a set of Brocks wheels,
or
I USED to have a set of Brocks wheels?

Thanks for your help every one.
Perhaps I could find some one doing a replica of a Brock L34 car. Maybe they'd be interested.

From the info I have received, the early L34's, '74 and some '75 ran 14's front and rear before changing to 15's. '76 and after ,including A9X, where most certainly 15's.

If you are not keen on a coffee table what about a dining table? Weld a crank on each one and set a big plate of glass on all 4? that way every time you sat down for dinner you would see a piece of history........... :D
